The one-stop fan guide to SB19 at Lollapalooza. For curious newcomers, proud A'TIN, and everyone in between.
SB19 isn’t just a boy band; they’re a self-made phenomenon. Hailing from the Philippines, members Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin have spent years breaking records and boundaries. From writing their own hits to running their own independent label, 1Z Entertainment, they’ve taken total control of their sound. Now, fresh off Billboard chart wins and world tours, they’re bringing their signature high-energy performance to the Lollapalooza stage.
SB19 is a collective of five distinct personalities, styles, and perspectives. Unlike many groups in the genre, the "SB19 sound" isn't handed to them, it’s built by them. From the songwriting and choreography to the creative direction of their company, 1Z Entertainment, every detail is a reflection of their own hands-on craft.
In a 2026 interview with NieW, leader Pablo described the chemistry that defines them:
"We're a unique group of five people with different personalities. When we make music, each of us brings our own 'ingredients' — our individuality and style — and mixing them all together is what creates rich work. That's how we make music that only SB19 can make."
— Pablo, NieW (April 2026)
By staying independent and self-managed, SB19 has protected that "richness," ensuring their music remains unmistakably Filipino and entirely their own.
In 2018, SB19 was a gamble. Recruited by a subsidiary of a South Korean company, the five members entered a world of grueling training, weekly cuts, and endless evaluations. But the path wasn't paved for them; they were largely self-taught, with the members teaching each other how to sing, dance, and record in between official sessions.
The gamble almost didn’t pay off. After a debut single that struggled to find an audience, the group faced a breaking point. "Go Up," released in 2019, was their final attempt—their "last shot" before disbanding.
Everything changed with a single tweet. A fan-shared video of their dance practice went viral, opening doors that had been slammed shut for years. But the struggle didn’t end with fame. In 2023, while transitioning to their own company, 1Z Entertainment, a trademark dispute nearly cost them their identity. For a moment, they were unable to even use the name "SB19." They fought back, resolved the dispute by December 2023, and reclaimed their name for good.
