Who They Are

Self-made. Self-run. Unmistakably Filipino.

SB19 is a collective of five distinct personalities, styles, and perspectives. Unlike many groups in the genre, the "SB19 sound" isn't handed to them, it’s built by them. From the songwriting and choreography to the creative direction of their company, 1Z Entertainment, every detail is a reflection of their own hands-on craft.

In a 2026 interview with NieW, leader Pablo described the chemistry that defines them:

"We're a unique group of five people with different personalities. When we make music, each of us brings our own 'ingredients' — our individuality and style — and mixing them all together is what creates rich work. That's how we make music that only SB19 can make."

— Pablo, NieW (April 2026)

By staying independent and self-managed, SB19 has protected that "richness," ensuring their music remains unmistakably Filipino and entirely their own.

What is P-Pop?
P-Pop (Pinoy Pop) is the vibrant sound of the Philippines—a high-energy blend of global pop, R&B, and electronic beats rooted in Filipino soul. With over 7,000 islands and 180 languages, the Philippines has always been a musical powerhouse, and SB19 is the group that brought that energy to the world stage. They didn't just follow a trend; they built the foundation for a new era of Filipino artistry, proving that world-class pop can come from anywhere.
What is A'TIN?
The SB19 fanbase name is a clever piece of Filipino wordplay—a tribute to the deep connection between the artists and their community. Designed with layers of meaning by the group’s leader, Pablo, the name A’TIN (pronounced eighteen) stands for three things:

1. The Bridge: You can’t get to 19 without 18. It’s a reminder that the fans always come first.

2. The Ownership: In Tagalog, atin (prounounced ah-tin) means "ours." It signifies that every milestone and every song belongs to the fans as much as the group.

3. The Roots: The "A" stands for Aurum (Latin for Gold), the name of their very first unofficial fan circle, ensuring they never forget where they started.
1Z Entertainment
On October 1, 2023, SB19 took the leap to become their own bosses. Founded by the members themselves, 1Z Entertainment is the engine behind everything they do. With Pablo serving as President, the group operates without a major label, maintaining full creative and business ownership. In an industry where artists often lose their voice to contracts, SB19’s level of independence is rare—and for a Filipino act on the global stage, it’s extraordinary.
The Origin

"Go Up" was their last shot.

In 2018, SB19 was a gamble. Recruited by a subsidiary of a South Korean company, the five members entered a world of grueling training, weekly cuts, and endless evaluations. But the path wasn't paved for them; they were largely self-taught, with the members teaching each other how to sing, dance, and record in between official sessions.

The gamble almost didn’t pay off. After a debut single that struggled to find an audience, the group faced a breaking point. "Go Up," released in 2019, was their final attempt—their "last shot" before disbanding.

Everything changed with a single tweet. A fan-shared video of their dance practice went viral, opening doors that had been slammed shut for years. But the struggle didn’t end with fame. In 2023, while transitioning to their own company, 1Z Entertainment, a trademark dispute nearly cost them their identity. For a moment, they were unable to even use the name "SB19." They fought back, resolved the dispute by December 2023, and reclaimed their name for good.

On the Breaking Point — GRAMMY.com, 2025
"We were on the verge of giving up. We had been training for years with no guarantee of success, and 'Go Up' was our last chance. If it didn't work, we were prepared to go our separate ways and return to our normal lives. We didn't expect that dance practice video to change everything."
On Forging a Path — Ni eW, 2026
"In life, there are always many paths. You might wonder if you chose the right one, but regardless of good or bad, you just commit and make the path you chose the right one. That’s how we’ve survived as SB19—by making our choices count."
On Staying Together — NieW, 2026
"We're like penguins. Normally we're each independent and stable, but when it gets really cold and windy, we huddle together."
What They Stand For

In their own words.

Direct quotes from verified interviews: GRAMMY.com, Billboard, Euphoria Zine, NieW, and more.

On the Global Mission

SB19 sees their music as a bridge between the Philippines and the world.

"Our ultimate goal is to pin down Filipino music and the whole culture of Filipinos in the global scene."

— Pablo, Euphoria Zine (Aug 2025)

"One goal for our group is to really introduce Filipino music culture and talent across the world."

— Justin, BuzzFeed (May 2025)

On Identity & "Bayanihan"

They represent a culture built on community and collective strength.

"Us Filipinos are known for unity, and we have this word called 'bayanihan' — and you can see it in everything we create."

— Ken, Euphoria Zine (Aug 2025)

"We are still artists who represent P-Pop and we take pride in it. In every country we've been to, we show how good P-Pop is."

— Josh, Euphoria Zine (Aug 2025)

On Authenticity & Connection

For SB19, the music has to be real to matter.

"If we put out something real, it gets through. People feel it as genuine. And they'll find themselves in the music we make."

— Pablo, NieW (Apr 2026)

"Happiness is celebrating even the smallest wins in life. It is in appreciating the smallest triumphs that makes the difference. Be your own reason to smile."

— Stell, SB19 Inner Thoughts

How They Create

Self-produced. Start to finish.

"

"The method of self-production was the most suitable way to express 'SB19.' During our trainee days, we weren't taught anything other than classes on how to present ourselves on stage. We had no choice but to study on our own or teach each other skills like singing, dancing, and recording, so even now we still value our own experiences and methods. In fact, there was even a time when members created choreography, directed music videos, and did almost everything related to production themselves. That's why when we make new songs or put out something, we first gather together, build a solid base ourselves, and then evolve it into a better work with the support of a team that understands us well."

The Creative Philosophies
On Vocal Arrangement

"I seriously think about who can best express and deliver the song's message. It's not just about who hits the note, but whose voice carries the right emotion for that specific moment."

— Pablo, NieW (Apr 2026)

On Always Evolving

"Our team often tries to do something different from what we've done before. We don't want to get stuck in one sound; we're always evolving and challenging ourselves to be better than yesterday."

— Josh, GMA News (Sep 2022)

On the SB19 Sound

"We don't like to abide by the mainstream sound. Instead, we try to incorporate the unique styles of each member. That's where we excel — blending five different vibes into one cohesive story."

— Pablo, Euphoria Zine (Aug 2025)

On Their Culture of "Yes"

"We have a mood of accepting any idea first — 'why not?' There's an openness before judgment. We want everyone to feel free to suggest anything, because the wildest ideas often become our best work."

— Ken, THE FIRST TIMES (Jul 2024)

Filipino Pride & Representation

The world is recognizing Filipino talent.

SB19’s journey isn’t just about personal success—it’s about bringing an entire nation’s artistry onto the global stage.

"The future we want is for there to be a term called P-POP that foreigners will actually travel to the Philippines just to watch our concerts."

— Pablo, GMA News (Aug 2024) · Translated from Filipino

"We want Filipinos everywhere to feel proud."

— Pablo, Euphoria Zine (Aug 2025)

"We are still artists who represent P-pop and we take pride in it. We have always been saying in every country we've been to, how good P-Pop is."

— Josh, Euphoria Zine (Aug 2025)

"Our Filipinos are known for unity, and we have this word called 'bayanihan' — and you can see it in everything we create."

— Ken, Euphoria Zine (Aug 2025)
